Ondre Almeida, age 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 20th, 2026, at Penn's Medical Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after a brave battle with lung disease.
Ondre was born on May 19th, 1969, to Martin and Polly Almeida at St Peters hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. After graduating from J.P. Stevens High School, he built a rich and rewarding career as a machinist. He then moved on to installing audio and visual equipment for corporate clients. In 2018 he started his own business as the owner of Triple Plus Painting Company.
Ondre's life was defined by the deep connections he made with those he loved. In 1998, he met the love of his life, Raushanah. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with shared dreams, laughter, and unwavering support, spending 28 wonderful years by each other's side and celebrating 20 years of marriage since tying the knot in 2006.
A proud and dedicated father, Ondre welcomed his beloved daughter, Nasirah Almeida, into the world in 2002. She was the light of his life, and he took immense joy in watching her grow. He also shared a special bond with Amani Walker, who was like a daughter to him, and lovingly opened his home and cared for her son, Keemani Simon, as his own, even while battling his illness.
Ondre was known for his warmth, gentle spirit, and dedication to his family. Despite the challenges of his illness, he faced his diagnosis with immense strength and grace, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and love that his family will carry forward forever. He was a devoted husband, loving father and brother and a cherished friend to many.
Many remember him as "Rig," a man whose warm spirit filled every room. He treasured every moment with his family and friends, and his love for music was a guiding light. Ondre's gentle strength and kindness will forever be cherished by his beloved wife Raushanah, his father Martin, his mother Polly, his brother Jevon (DJ Bookeem), his daughter Nasirah, his best friend Poppy, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, a niece, cousins, and friends who will hold him forever in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents whom he grew up with and cherished dearly.
