Mattie J. Carr was born to Mary and Levi Carr on February 19, 1945 in North Carolina. She was the 5th of 15 children. This large family was filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.
Mattie Began her education at Charity High School in Rosehill, North Carolina where she graduated. She also received her B.A of Education from Montclair State College. She has been employed with Irvington Board of Education until her retirement in January 2020. Mattie was also involved deeply in Early Child Development in Essex County, New Jersey.
Mattie J. Carr was a woman of great presence who love serving God and the Church. In addition, she was full of joy and very outgoing. Mattie was not a shy individual. She loves meeting new people and engaging in conversations.
Furthermore, Mattie loves her Starbucks run in the morning where she meets up with friends and family. Overall, Mattie will be sincerely missed by her family and friends. It is truly a lost to her love ones and her community. Thus, I know she is rejoicing in heaven with her Heavenly Father.
Mattie leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Sharon Y. Dickerson and all her siblings: Margaret Carr-Herring, Annie Sanabria, Queen Victoria Carr, Robert Charles Carr, James Earl Carr, Mary Lois Carr, David Carr, Eunice Carr, Willie Carr, Ledell Carr, Edward Carr, Levi Carr, Gary Carr, Gracie Carr along with a host of cousins and other relatives.
