Dennis Pennant

Dennis Pennant, affectionately known as "Tallest," left this world on July 10, 2025, after a grueling battle with prostate and esophageal cancer. Born on October 3, 1946, in Trelawny, Jamaica, Dennis navigated his journey with a spirit that touched all who knew him. He passed peacefully at home in Plainfield, NJ, surrounded by the love of his family.

A devoted mechanic and truck driver, Dennis spent his life not just working with his hands but also enriching the lives of those around him. His career was marked by his dedication and skill that earned him the respect of his peers, but it was his kindness, gentle nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand that truly defined him. His love for his family was unparalleled; he cherished his role as a father and grandfather above all else, taking immense pride in his children and grandchildren.

Dennis was a man of laughter and joy. He loved to dance and make jokes, bringing happiness to those fortunate enough to be in his presence. He found delight in the simple things — whether taking walks or engaging in word searches, he approached life with a joyful heart. He had a playful spirit, often scaring his granddaughter and daughter, a testament to his loving nature and family orientation.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved mother Louena Pennant, children, Sophia  (Sean) Huggins, Pastor Davin  (Sophia )Pennant, Debron ( Kay) Pennant, Jermaine Pennant, Cierra (Jude) Pennant- Rosemond and George Pennant, who continue to carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. He is also survived by many cherished grandchildren, who will remember their playful grandfather with affection.

Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Pennant grandson, Sean Huggins II, and sister, Audrey Graham. The loss of these family members weighs heavy, yet it is the love they shared that continues to endure.

As friends and family gather to remember Dennis, we invite you to join us for a visitation at Plinton Curry Funeral Home in Franklin Township, NJ, on July 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Dennis Pennants final resting place will be his home town Trelawny, Jamaica. While words may fall short in capturing the essence of such a remarkable soul, it is the kindness, laughter, and love that Dennis gifted to the world that will forever echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
