Deborah Glenn passed away Tuesday, December 31st, 2019. She was a devoted mother, sister, daughter, aunt, mentor, coach, teammate, and community member. She was also a talented DJ, singer, dancer, and artist, who especially loved writing song lyrics and poetry. A naturally giving woman, Deborah volunteered an incredible amount of time giving back locally, affecting the lives of hundreds of young people. Deborah was a youth girls basketball coach in Highland Park, mentoring young women and teaching them not only sports-related skills, but critical life skills as well. Her volunteering also extended to working with AmeriCorps Peacekeepers program, in which she facilitated workshops on de-escalating crisis situations to youth in New Brunswick. She was an adamant black rights activist as well as a women’s rights activist, working with The National Organization for Women, among other organizations. Deborah is survived by her son, Trupre; her mother, Virginia; siblings Dwight, Horace Jr., Samuel, and Zoramae; and eight nieces and five nephews.
