On Wednesday January 9, 2019 God called home one of his children. Daniel Van Johnson, known to most as Danny and to some as Ramadan, was born in Newark, New Jersey on September 10,1957 to the late Samuel and Sallie Johnson. Raised in the Stella Wright Housing Community in Newark, Danny attended Morton Street Elementary and received his high school diploma from Central High School. Through the bond of his best friend Benjamin “Benny” Spencer, Danny met Sharonda Melton in 1975. They were blessed with two children, Tyree Ar-Rashid and Danielle Tyiesha. Danny was employed by Bamberger in Newark and the Newark Public School System. He was a nice friendly person who always kept a smile on his face. A human calculator, his love for Math was outstanding. Danny was the handyman in the neighborhood and was known for his willingness to help anyone with anything that he could. He will truly be missed by many. Danny was predeceased in death by his siblings Tyrone Johnson, Gloria Johnson and Gregory Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories one son Tyree, one daughter Danielle, one granddaughter Maleyah, one step-daughter Kriesha, one grandson Jaud, life- long friend Sharonda; one brother Russell Johnson, one sister Beverly Johnson, beloved friend Janie Hall and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. As Danny would always say “Stay Strong” …” Yeah Baby”
